Supporting Organisations

The Army Cadet Force has over 1,600 detachments in every corner of the United Kingdom. They are organised into 55 groupings, based on a county structure, known variously as Counties, Battalions and Sectors in different parts of the country. Each of the UK 55 county HQs has a small, full-time staff available during normal office hours.

The ACF is supported by three organisations, each with their own specific and complementary responsibilities.

Army Cadet Force Association (ACFA)

The Army Cadet Force Association (ACFA) is a registered charity dedicated to promoting the ideals and activities of the Army Cadet Force.

British Army

The British Army's Personnel and Regional Command at HQ Regional Command provides operational command and funding to the ACF through the General Officer Commanding and Deputy Commander Cadets.

Reserve Forces and Cadets Associations (RFCA)

There are 13 regional RFCAs nationwide, each looking after the ACF Counties, Battalions and Sectors in their area. Each RFCA reports to HQ Land Forces via the Council of RFCAs.
