REMEMBERING. HONOURING. NEVER FORGETTING.
Both Perth Detachments of the Black Watch Battalion Army Cadet Force proudly took part in the Armistice Parade at the Tri-Service Memorial in Perth.
Joining veterans, serving personnel and members of the local community, our cadets stood together to pay their respects. The parade provided an important opportunity to remember all those who served, recognise their courage and honour the sacrifices made in the cause of freedom.
Paying Our Respects at Perth’s Tri-Service Memorial
For our cadets, taking part in the parade meant much more than marching. It was a chance to reflect on the dedication and bravery of generations who served before them. By standing alongside veterans and serving personnel, they also strengthened their understanding of why remembrance matters.
Furthermore, the presence of our young people demonstrated the continuing importance of passing these stories on to future generations. We must never take for granted the freedoms secured through the service and sacrifice of others.
Throughout the parade, our cadets represented the values at the heart of the Army Cadet Force: Respect, Loyalty, Integrity and Selfless Commitment. These values guide how we behave, support one another and contribute to our communities.
Remembering Those Who Served
Remembrance plays an important role in developing our young people. It helps them understand the human cost of conflict and the importance of service, duty and respect. Taking part in events such as this also gives cadets the opportunity to show their gratitude in a meaningful and public way.
We are extremely proud of both Perth Detachments and the dignity, commitment and respect shown by every cadet who took part. Their presence was a fitting tribute to all who served, those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who continue to serve today.
Their example inspires us all.
We Will Remember Them.
