Learning and development never stop in the Army Cadet Force. While our cadets are constantly building new skills, our adult volunteers are equally committed to developing themselves, ensuring they can provide the very best training, leadership, and opportunities for the young people in our care.

A huge congratulations to SSgt Matt James on successfully completing the prestigious Cadet Drill Course at Cadet Training Centre Frimley Park!

Reflecting on the experience, Matt said:

“I won’t forget the weather – it was a massive challenge – but I’m absolutely buzzing to have spent the last week at CTC Frimley Park, completing and passing the Cadet Drill Course! It was an intense, fast-paced week of precision, sharp turns, and giving my voice a serious workout, but it was worth every second.

I met some incredible people from all over the country and learned what it really means to lead on the parade square. Massive shoutout to the instructors and the rest of my squad for making it such a brilliant week.

Next stop: bringing everything I learned back to Clwyd & Gwynedd Army Cadet Force.”

The Cadet Drill Course is designed to develop the very highest standards of drill, discipline, confidence, and leadership. Successfully completing it is a fantastic achievement and reflects Matt’s dedication to continuous improvement as an instructor.
