The Battalion Congratulates Staff Sergeant John McDougall
The Black Watch Battalion Army Cadet Force is delighted to congratulate Sergeant John McDougall of Burma Company on his promotion to Staff Sergeant.
This well-earned promotion recognises John’s commitment to the Army Cadet Force, his professionalism and his dedication to supporting cadets and fellow Adult Volunteers. It also marks an important milestone in his service and reflects the confidence placed in him as he takes on greater responsibility within the Battalion.
A Well-Deserved Promotion
Staff Sergeant McDougall received his new rank slides from Burma Company Commander, Major Mark Elliot, during a formal presentation.
The occasion recognised John’s hard work, leadership and commitment. Throughout his service, he has consistently demonstrated integrity, reliability and a genuine passion for developing young people. As a result, he has become a respected member of Burma Company and the wider Battalion.
Leading by Example
Adult Volunteers are at the heart of the Army Cadet Force. Every week, they give their time to deliver training, organise activities and support community events. In doing so, they help young people build confidence, resilience, teamwork and leadership skills.
As a Staff Sergeant, John will continue to mentor cadets, support fellow volunteers and contribute to the ongoing success of Burma Company and the Black Watch Battalion Army Cadet Force. His promotion reflects both his experience and his commitment to leading by example.
