Cornwall Army Cadets had a successful and fun show this year at The Royal Cornwall show! It was a bit wet, but it wasn’t enough to dampen our fun and we had hundreds of engagements with young people and families! The 2025 show had an attendance of 110,676, being the largest event like this in the Dutchy!

Cadet Colour Serjeant Chloe McCarthy, the Army Cadets Lord Lieutenant Cadet, had an incredible time at Royal Cornwall Show this year. She escorted HRH Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, around the show for over 3 hours and did all cadets and the training staff proud. She featured on both local news programmes on Friday evening and other media outlets. Colour McCarthy is a tribute to the cadet force and we are all very proud of her.

Day 1 of Royal Cornwall Show. A wet start and end, but we had a good day and made many engagements. More importantly the cadets and CFAVs had fun talking to the public and taking part in activities across the show.

Day 2 of the Royal Cornwall Show was a great day with loads more engagement with the community! Visitors to our stand took part in CPR demos, cr ualty simulations (fake wounds), a fieldcraft activity and our observation patrol lane. We had a visit from the Cornwall Air Ambulance and their mascot, Aircrew Andy, joined us in some photos!

One of our cadets that helped out at the show this year not only worked very hard on our stand on Friday but also did a full day with his college, and Saturday with St John Ambulance! He is a credit to all three organisations!

Day 3 of the show was a wet but busy day! After talking to many members of the public, we are looking at welcoming lots of new cadets and adult volunteers into the Army Cadets in the next few weeks – welcome all!

Thank you to everyone that visited our engagement stand – we had fun talking to you all!

While we were at the show, we also promoted two of our cadets after they had both impressed everyone with their hard work over the last few months!
