Building Skills Through Adventure
Stand Up Paddleboarding tested each cadet’s balance, coordination and determination. However, success depended on much more than staying on the board.
Throughout the day, cadets worked together to build confidence, improve communication and strengthen teamwork. As a result, they gained new skills while supporting one another on the water.
Black Watch Battalion Adventure Training is designed to help young people develop resilience, leadership and problem-solving skills. In addition, every activity is delivered in a safe environment under the supervision of qualified instructors.
A Team Effort
The day was made possible thanks to the dedication of the Battalion’s Adult Volunteers and Professional Support Staff (PSS).
From planning and organising the activity to instructing, supervising and ensuring the safety of every cadet, the team worked tirelessly throughout the day. Consequently, cadets were able to enjoy a rewarding and memorable experience.
The Black Watch Battalion extends its sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the event such a success.

Most importantly, these experiences help young people grow in confidence, develop leadership skills and build lasting friendships.
