On Monday, September 28, 2026, the Abbey Park detachment conducted a parade to celebrate their rebadging ceremony. Formerly associated with the Royal Wessex Yeomanry, they have now transitioned to the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC).
As an RLC unit based in Swindon, it presented a perfect opportunity for one of the local detachments to become affiliated with the community RLC.
The parade was spearheaded by Cadet CSM Beggan, the Sword Company CSM, accompanied by Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) from Abbey Park Detachment. This event took place in the presence of proud parents and family members of the Abbey Park Detachment.
Representing The RLC
The Honoury Colonel, Colonel Lucy M Giles CBE BSc MA PGCE Hon LLD,

The parade was a beautifully executed ceremony where the formal change of headdress was implemented.
Our esteemed guest inspected the cadets, delivered inspiring talks, and warmly welcomed us to the RLC family.
Once the ceremony concluded, Cadets, CFAVs, and guests all savored sandwiches while engaging in conversation with the RLC soldiers, who had set up a small display stand to showcase the capabilities of the RLC.
We eagerly anticipate a fruitful partnership between Wiltshire ACF and the Royal Logistic Corps.

It was also a perfect moment to award CSM Beggan with his Master Cadet Certificate, which he earned at Frimley Park. The Master Cadet course represents the pinnacle of the Cadet experience, and he not only passed but also received an exemplary report.
