Black Watch Cadets Take on 51 Brigade Drill Competition

There was no silverware for the Black Watch Battalion this time, but there was certainly plenty to be proud of.

Our cadets recently represented the Battalion at the 51 Brigade Drill Competition at Glencorse Barracks, taking on a demanding competition where discipline, precision, teamwork and high standards were put firmly to the test.

Putting Training into Practice

The 51 Brigade Drill Competition provided an excellent opportunity for our cadets to demonstrate the skills they have developed through training.

Drill demands concentration, discipline and attention to detail. Every movement matters, and success depends on individuals working together as one team.

Although the Battalion did not bring home the trophies this year, the cadets approached the competition with determination and represented the Black Watch with pride and professionalism.

The Work Behind the Team

Competitions like this do not happen overnight.

Behind every team is a considerable amount of preparation, training and commitment. Therefore, a huge thank you goes to the Adult Volunteers who gave their time to train and prepare the cadets, support them throughout the process and ensure the team was able to attend the competition.

Their commitment makes a real difference and provides cadets with opportunities to challenge themselves, develop new skills and learn from experience.

No Silverware — But Valuable Experience

While the trophy cabinet may remain untouched this year, the experience gained will be valuable.

Every competition provides an opportunity to learn, identify areas for improvement and come back stronger. Most importantly, the cadets have demonstrated the determination to step forward, compete and represent their Battalion.

We’ll Be Back!

No trophies this time. More lessons learned. More experience gained. Another challenge taken on.

The next challenge is already out there — and when we return, we’ll be looking for that silverware! 🏆

Well done to the whole team. You represented the Black Watch Battalion with pride.

Be More. Do More. Achieve More.
