Building skills for life
About Lothian & Borders Battalion ACF
Lothian & Borders Battalion ACF is home to over 600 cadets and 100 adult volunteers across 34 detachments. We provide a safe, fun, and challenging environment where young people gain confidence, leadership, and valuable life experience through military-themed activities and adventure training.
Based at Drumshoreland House in Broxburn, West Lothian, our battalion is divided into four companies:
-
Alma Company – Midlothian & South Edinburgh Commanded by Major Yasmin Shorter
-
Kohima Company – East Lothian & North Edinburgh Commanded by Captain Jamie Roy
-
Minden Company – The Scottish Borders Commanded by SMI Scott Borthwick
-
Somme Company – West Lothian Commanded by SMI Jade Maxwell
Our dedicated HQ team ensures smooth operations and quality training. We also proudly support a Band and Pipes & Drums unit based at Redford Barracks, part of Alma Company.
