What you need to know

Who Can Join?

If you're aged 12 to 18 years old, you’re eligible to become a cadet!

Commitment?

Parade nights are usually one or two evenings a week, plus optional weekend training and annual camps.

Cost?

Being a cadet is low-cost or free, with most essentials and activities provided.

No, Army Cadets is a youth organisation, not a recruitment programme. You don’t have to join the military.

No, whether you’re completely new to cadets or already well-versed in our syllabus activities, there’s a place for everyone.

You’ll be issued a uniform when you join. Some personal items, like boots, may need to be purchased.
