Launched by the Cadets Branch in 2019, the Army Cadet Ambassador Programme was created to spotlight individuals who embody the spirit and values of the Army Cadets
At the Army Cadets, our people are our greatest asset. Our dedicated volunteers, ambassadors, and staff come from various backgrounds, bringing with them experience, skills, and diverse perspectives. Each member plays a vital role in shaping the lives of cadets, instilling values such as teamwork, leadership, and confidence. Here’s what we do to ensure our people can thrive and support the next generation.

The diversity of our adult volunteers will always reflect that of our cadets because a mix of backgrounds and experiences can bring fresh perspectives and create a richer learning environment.

Our training programs ensure our volunteers are well-equipped to guide cadets in their personal growth and development.
Every member of the ACF community contributes to a larger mission: inspiring and empowering young people to become confident and capable individuals. Through mentorship, adventurous training, and community engagement, our team helps cadets develop essential life skills that extend far beyond their time with us.
Major General Justin Stenhouse CBE DSO
Commander Cadets
Justin Stenhouse commissioned into 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards (QDG) in 1998. His operational experience has included deployments to Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. At staff he has held appointments on the Current Operations desk for Afghanistan in the Permanent Joint Headquarters, been an Instructor on the Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Land) and done various appointments from Lieutenant Colonel to Brigadier as a Resource and Capability planner in Headquarters Field Army, Army Headquarters and more latterly in the Military Strategic Headquarters. In 2021 he attended the Higher Command and Staff Course. He has commanded 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards from 2017 to 2019 and 11th Security Force Assistance Brigade from 2022 to 2024 which included command of Operation INTERFLEX, the training of Ukrainian soldiers in the United Kingdom. In July 26 he promoted to Major-General and was appointed General Officer Commanding Regional Command.
