Many Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers will remember the #DoorstepSalute initiative that the Army Cadets supported with Forged with Pride to mark Remembrance Day in 2020.

As Remembrance Day fell amidst national lockdowns, all Remembrance Day activities had a very different feel to them. Leading up to Remembrance Day last year, Forged with Pride teamed up with Cadet Forces around the UK to encourage all Cadets to upload a photo to social media of them saluting on their doorstep in uniform on Remembrance Day. From this the initiative gained traction on social media with #DoorstepSalute

All the photos uploaded to social media were collated to create the commemorative print to mark the 100th centenary of the Cenotaph.

Project lead and National Ambassador Sally Orange was delighted to recently present the print to Brigadier Stuart Williams OBE at CTC Frimley Park.

I am always incredibly proud and thoroughly impressed with both the cadets and adult volunteers with how well and quickly they react to any given situation. The response to this project was absolutely fantastic. It was the perfect opportunity for not only the Army Cadets, but all cadets across the UK to come together alongside the wider military community and demonstrate how powerful the cadet spirit is.

Army Cadet Champion Phil Campion took part in the initiative and Sally also presented one of the prints to him at CTC Frimley Park alongside Brigadier Stuart.

The commemorative print of the Cenotaph costs £12.50 and you can purchase one here with all profits going to Scotty’s Little Soldiers. Why not see if you can find yourself in this piece of history?
