Lt Col Fitzsimons receives 2 Scots plaque for MACF

"I was absolutely delighted to welcome The 2nd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland to our HQ at Altcar for a presentation to our Cadets and a fabulous musical display which everyone was very impressed with."

Lt Col Tom Fitzsimons (ACF) - Deputy Commandant

#teamMACF Cadets had a amazing evening at our Merseyside ACF HQ St Georges CTC at Altcar Training Camp recently when The 2nd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland came for a visit during a Parade Night.

SMI Alan Herbert who was one of the Adult Instructors who attended the evening told us:

"2 SCOTS Pipes, Drums and Bugles are involved in all Ceremonial duties to with the Royal Family and it was fantastic that they took time out of the their very busy schedule to visit us at Altcar recently.

Pipe Sgt Davies who organised the event is a also a former Merseyside ACF Cadet and it is absolutely fantastic to see him doing so well in 2 SCOTS in The British Army.

On display for Cadets and Instrcutors to see were pipes and drums, pioneer equipment and mine detecting equipment, which Cadets got to have a go with under supervision in the Rabbit Warren. 2 SCOTS also put on a display of all the various types of uniform they wear besides the MTP working dress.

The evening itself finished off with a couple music performances including a Highland jig, all performed by the 2 SCOTS band members it was incredible and truly momentous to be there."

Deputy Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel Tom Fitzsimons who was also in attendance has said:

"I was absolutely delighted to welcome Sergeant Joe Davies and his team from 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Scotland to our HQ at Altcar for a presentation to our Cadets and a fabulous musical display which everyone was very impressed with.

It is always a source of great pride to see how our previous Cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers have progressed after leaving MACF and Sergeant Joe Davies is no exception, having been both a Cadet and CFAV it was lovely to have him return and share his Regular Army experiences with current Cadets, very inspiring to all!"

Thank you to Sgt J Davies and The 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Scotland for a wonderful and informative display.
