Blairgowrie Detachment at the Highland Games

A huge well done to Blairgowrie & Stanley Detachment for representing the Army Cadets in Perthshire at the Blairgowrie Highland Games.

The event gave cadets a valuable opportunity to engage with their local community, meet members of the public and share what the Army Cadets have to offer. Throughout the day, cadets spoke with local families and visitors, answering questions and giving an insight into detachment life.

Connecting With the Community

Community engagement is an important part of being an Army Cadet. It enables young people to build confidence, develop communication skills and represent their detachment with pride.

At the Blairgowrie Highland Games, cadets highlighted the wide range of opportunities available. These include learning new skills, taking part in adventure training, enjoying sport and making lasting friendships. As a result, visitors gained a better understanding of the positive experiences and challenges that cadet life provides.

A Fantastic Team Effort

The Highland Games also gave cadets the chance to work together in a busy public setting. They showed enthusiasm, teamwork and professionalism throughout the event.

Moreover, their positive attitude reflected the values of the Army Cadets and demonstrated the important role Blairgowrie Detachment plays within the local community.
