In South West London ACF, we have wholeheartedly embraced the 健康心灵 Initiative, embedding it into the very fabric of our wellbeing strategy. At the heart of this commitment was the creation of The Hub at our Annual Camp, a dedicated space where all four pillars of wellbeing converged to offer holistic, accessible support to both cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs).

was not just a concept, it was a living, breathing environment. Our multidisciplinary team, including Padres, MSOs, Healthy Minds representatives, and Diversity & Inclusion leads, worked side by side to provide real-time advice, guidance, and compassionate support. The Hub became a safe space for open, honest conversations, helping individuals feel heard, valued, and empowered.

Leadership Through Presence and Accessibility

We knew that visibility mattered. Our wellbeing team were not confined to offices — they were out on the ranges, in the field, and walking the camp. They met people where they were most comfortable, creating opportunities for genuine, meaningful engagement.

  • Cadets and CFAVs could access support on their terms, at times and in places that suited them.
  • Follow-up check-ins ensured continuity of care and reinforced our commitment to long-term 福利

Promoting Awareness and Culture Change

To embed the initiative across the camp and beyond:

  • Every training cadre received poster packs for offices and barrack rooms, signposting support and reinforcing the message.
  • We maintained strong communication through social media and event participation, amplifying our wellbeing message.
  • Our sector proudly showcased our approach at 弗里姆利公园 CTC, sharing best practice and inspiring others nationally.
  • Visits from national ambassadors and Healthy Minds leads created opportunities for shared learning and demonstrated our support in action.

Responding with Compassion in Challenging Moments

We have also stood firm in the most difficult times — responding with sensitivity, discretion, and care when support was needed most. Our team ensured that help was not only available, but delivered in the right way, at the right time, and with the right tone.

Embedding Wellbeing into Everyday Culture

Wellbeing is no longer an initiative; it’s part of our culture. From chill-out rooms and wellbeing noticeboards to the rise of Cadet Healthy Minds Champions, our cadets and CFAVs are seeing and feeling the difference. We are building a community rooted in understanding, resilience, and shared responsibility for mental 福利
