Army Cadets UK welcomed representatives from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to the Academi Filwrol Frenhinol Sandhurst (RMAS) to formally renew the Baltic Guard Protocol, reaffirming a shared commitment to international cadet cooperation.
The annual agreement strengthens the partnership among the five participating nations, creating opportunities for cadets to participate in each country’s flagship cadet events throughout the year. Through international exchanges, training activities and cultural experiences, the protocol continues to provide young people with opportunities to broaden their horizons, develop new skills and build lasting friendships.
This year’s signing ceremony marked another important milestone in the long-standing collaboration between the partner nations, with Army Cadets UK proudly hosting the event.
Strengthening International Partnerships
The Baltic Guard Protocol is renewed each year, with hosting responsibilities rotating between the participating countries. The annual signing demonstrates each nation’s continued commitment to providing meaningful international opportunities for its cadets.
The protocol continues to play an important role in strengthening relationships among the participating nations while supporting cadets’ personal development through shared learning and collaboration.
Seeing the Partnership in Action
Alongside the formal signing ceremony, delegates had the opportunity to visit the Army Cadets UK’s international exchange programme, where they observed cadets taking part in a range of activities.
The visit allowed representatives to see first hand how the Baltic Guard Protocol benefits young people by providing challenging and rewarding international experiences. Delegates met participating cadets and staff, gaining valuable insight into the programme while witnessing the friendships, teamwork and cultural exchange that have become central to the partnership.
The visit also provided an opportunity for delegates to discuss future collaboration and share ideas for strengthening international exchanges in the years ahead.
Investing in the Future of Cadets
The continued success of the Baltic Guard Protocol reflects the strong relationships between the cadet organisations of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the United Kingdom, with Army Cadets UK continuing to play a leading role in fostering those partnerships.
International exchanges remain an important part of the cadet experience, allowing young people to challenge themselves, learn from others and gain a broader understanding of different cultures and military traditions.
