Berkshire ACF volunteers Sgt Emily Rees and SSgt Mark Eaton proudly represented Berkshire Army Cadet Force at the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire’s annual Garden Party on 9 June. The event celebrated Berkshire’s unsung heroes and brought together volunteers from across the Royal County who make a difference in their communities.

A Celebration of Berkshire’s Volunteers

Hosted in the beautiful surroundings of Stanlake Park Wine Estate in Twyford, the event welcomed around 70 guests from a wide range of voluntary and charitable organisations. The Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire, Andrew Try, opened the afternoon and thanked guests for their dedication, generosity and lasting impact on the lives of others.

In addition, the event welcomed the High Sheriff of Berkshire, Ren Kapur, members of the Berkshire Lieutenancy and the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadets, Regimental Sergeant Major Cadet Adam Stirling and Cadet Flight Sergeant Harry Turner-Knight.

Representing Berkshire ACF

Sgt Rees, Detachment Commander of 15 Platoon, Theale, and SSgt Eaton of 17 Platoon, Whitley, proudly represented the commitment shown by Berkshire ACF volunteers across the county.

Throughout the afternoon, they enjoyed live music, afternoon tea and the opportunity to meet fellow volunteers. They also shared experiences with guests from a variety of organisations, all united by a commitment to supporting their local communities.

Meeting Community Leaders

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to meet and speak with both the High Sheriff and the Lord Lieutenant. During these conversations, Emily and Mark discussed the important work carried out by Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and the positive impact they have on young people across Berkshire.

The Lord Lieutenant expressed his appreciation for the contribution made by volunteers throughout the county and for the work undertaken by organisations that help develop future generations.

Proud to Support Young People Across Berkshire

The event was a wonderful celebration of community spirit and volunteer service. More importantly, it highlighted the difference that volunteers make every day across Berkshire.

For Emily and Mark, the afternoon was a memorable experience and a chance to represent Berkshire ACF among some of the county’s most dedicated volunteers. Their attendance reflected the commitment shown by Berkshire ACF volunteers every week in supporting and developing young people across the Royal County.
