Cadets Prepare at Barry Buddon Training Area

Cadets spent a challenging and rewarding weekend at Barry Buddon Training Area, preparing for the upcoming 51 Brigade Military Skills Competition.

The weekend brought cadets together to build confidence, develop essential military skills and strengthen teamwork. Training in a field environment gave everyone the opportunity to put their learning into practice while working towards a shared goal.

Building Skills Through Challenge

Military skills competitions demand focus, resilience and determination. Therefore, every part of the weekend was an opportunity for cadets to improve.

They worked together under pressure, practised clear communication and developed the ability to make good decisions as a team. In addition, cadets learned the importance of preparation, discipline and supporting those around them.

Training away from the detachment offers a different kind of challenge. Cadets must adapt to new surroundings, manage their time and stay focused throughout the day. As a result, they gain valuable experience that helps them grow both as individuals and as members of a team.

Teamwork at the Heart of Training

Success in the 51 Brigade Military Skills Competition will rely on more than individual ability. It will depend on teamwork, trust and the willingness to keep going when things become difficult.

Throughout the weekend, cadets showed commitment and a positive attitude. They encouraged one another, took on new challenges and represented their detachments with pride.
