Hadleigh Detachment recently spent a Saturday at Thorpe Woodlands Activity Centre, enjoying a well-deserved reward for all the hard work, commitment and dedication they have shown over the past year. The day was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to spend time together, strengthen teamwork and have some team bonding time outside of our usual cadet environment.

We kicked off the day with the zip wire, where everyone had the opportunity to take the leap and launch themselves down. Everyone was excited to get started and gave it a go or two.

Next, we headed to the climbing wall, where things got competitive with a game of rock, paper, scissors across the wall. After plenty of laughs with this, everyone had the chance to challenge themselves by climbing to the top before safely abseiling back down. It was great to see everyone encouraging one another and giving it their best shot.

Our next challenge was the Leap of Faith. This activity really tested everyone’s confidence, as they had to step off a tower into what felt like thin air, trusting the rope to slow their descent. It was a real test of mind over matter, pushing everyone to face their fears and step outside their comfort zone.

To finish off our action-packed day, we took on Tree Trekking, we got to go on two different courses. This proved to be the winning activity of the day, with everyone enjoying the challenges and supporting each other along the way.

A huge thank you to Thorpe Woodlands Activity Centre for providing such a brilliant day out for our cadets and helping us create so many fantastic memories.

Well done to all our cadets for their enthusiasm, teamwork and willingness to try something new. We look forward to many more adventures together!
