Massive congratulations to Lt Robert “Bob” Maxwell on being recognised with not one, but two remarkable long-service achievements, reflecting his exceptional dedication to young people, the Army Cadets, and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Long Service Award

In recognition of 12 years of committed service to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Bob has been presented with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Long Service Award. This prestigious honour highlights over a decade of inspiring and supporting young people as they develop valuable life skills, confidence, and resilience through the award programme.

Third Clasp to the Cadet Forces Medal

Adding to this impressive accomplishment, Bob has also been awarded his Third Clasp to the Cadet Forces Medal (CFM), recognising an outstanding 30 years of dedicated service to the Army Cadet Force. Throughout his three decades of service, Bob has undertaken a variety of key leadership roles, including Officer Commanding Minden Company and, more recently, Detachment Commander for Blaenau Ffestiniog. He also continues to lead on The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme for Minden Company, ensuring countless cadets benefit from the opportunities it provides.

Bob’s commitment, leadership, and unwavering dedication have made a lasting and positive impact on generations of cadets and adult volunteers alike. His enthusiasm, professionalism, and passion for youth development have earned him the respect and admiration of all who have worked alongside him.

Bob was recently presented with both awards by Commandant Melanie E. Prangnell MBE, who praised his exceptional contribution, saying: “We thank Bob for his exceptional service and continued support. Your dedication to the Army Cadets is truly inspiring.”

Congratulations, Bob, on these well-deserved achievements and thank you for your outstanding service.
