ADULT LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT (ALM) COURSE
This course is designed to provide Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) with the skills, knowledge, and understanding required to fulfil the role of a Detachment Commander. It focuses on organisation, administration, leadership, and management within the Army Cadets environment.
Successful completion of the course qualifies CFAVs for promotion up the adult ranks, from hand for the role of a Detachment Commander.
The ALM course is one of the eligible courses which may allow for promotion from Sergeant Instructor to Staff Sergeant Instructor, however meeting the pre-requisites is not a guarantee of promotion, many things are taken into consideration such as attitude, leadership ability and personal values.
Candidates must have completed the induction training up to and including the successful completion of the Adult Induction Course.
Requirements for attending the Adult Leadership and Management Course
The following pre-requisites apply:
- Completion of the Westminster Basic User Course.
- IT Skills: You should be comfortable using a computer, including creating, editing documents as well as numbering, formatting including headers and footers in Microsoft Word.
- Risk Assessor Practitioner.
- Been part of the planning process in Detachment Training Programmes.
Recommended Preparation for the Adult Leadership and Management Course
અભ્યાસક્રમમાં હાજરી આપતા પહેલાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ નીચેની બાબતો પણ કરવાની ભલામણ કરવામાં આવે છે:
- Have a familiarity with correct formatting as per JSP 101, in particular, an administrative instruction.
- Familiarity with Westminster, including the skills taught on the Basic User course.
