Regional specialists from across the East Midlands gathered at Kendrew Barracks, Cottesmore, on Saturday 31 October for the HQ Centre (East) Regionally Appointed List (RAL) Team annual conference.
The conference brought together volunteer subject matter experts (SMEs) from across the East Midlands to review current activity, share updates and discuss priorities for supporting the Army Cadet Force (ACF) and Combined Cadet Force (CCF).
The programme opened with an address from Colonel Chris Doyle, Colonel Cadets, who welcomed attendees and provided an overview of regional priorities and developments. This was followed by individual updates from the regional SMEs, giving colleagues the opportunity to share progress, discuss challenges and highlight areas requiring further attention.
The afternoon programme included updates on workforce management, training and CCF contingent support, alongside a briefing on communications and information systems (CIS). These sessions provided an opportunity to consider how specialist teams can work together to support units, adult volunteers and cadets across the East Midlands.
The conference also looked ahead, with Colonel Doyle outlining his expectations for the RAL team and the contribution its members will make to the region’s future development. An open forum provided further opportunity for discussion before the event concluded.
Colonel Chris Doyle, Colonel Cadets, said:
“The RAL team plays an important role in supporting the delivery and development of Army Cadets across the East Midlands. Bringing our specialists together provides a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, review our priorities and ensure we are working towards common objectives.
I want to see us continue to work collaboratively, provide practical support to our counties and contingents, and deliver the best possible experience for our cadets and adult volunteers.
HQ Centre (East) provides regional leadership and support to the Army Cadet Force across the East Midlands.
