Kohima’s Weekend of Competition and Charity: A Memorable End to the Year

Over the weekend 15-17 November, Kohima reignited their annual competition weekend with an exhilarating mix of team challenges and camaraderie. Competing in detachment teams across multiple activities, the event concluded with the coveted Captain Jack Randle VC Trophy up for grabs. A huge congratulations to 14 Tp Musselburgh for clinching this year’s victory!

The weekend was packed with engaging events, including first aid drills, paintball matches, shooting, navigation challenges, and drill & turnout competitions. Each stand tested the cadets’ skills, teamwork, and determination.

In a standout act of generosity, newly promoted LCpl Rollo and LCpl Wallace from 34 Pl went above and beyond by shaving their heads to raise funds for 埃辛, a charity supporting veterans. Setting an initial goal of £300, the duo has far exceeded expectations, raising an incredible £1,300 to date—and donations are still coming in! If you’d like to support their inspiring effort, visit their fundraising page: Shaving Our Heads for Erskine. Well done to both for their dedication!

The camp concluded with a final parade, celebrating the cadets’ achievements. Many promotions and star badges were awarded, marking the culmination of a successful and rewarding weekend.

This event was a perfect way for Kohima to round off the year, blending competition, charity, and celebration into a weekend to remember.
