A massive congratulations to Staff Sergeant Darren Tonge of Cupar Detachment on his well-deserved promotion.
Darren’s promotion recognises his continued commitment, hard work and development within the Army Cadet Force, as well as his contribution to the cadets and adults he supports.
Recognising Achievement and Development
Over the past few years, Darren has continued to develop his leadership and management skills while taking on increased responsibility.
Most recently, he successfully completed the Curso de Liderança e Gestão de Adultos (ALM), achieving a highly competent result. This is a significant milestone in his development and demonstrates his commitment to maintaining and strengthening the skills required to lead effectively.
Furthermore, following his appointment as a fully fledged Detachment Commander, Darren has taken on an important leadership role within Cupar Detachment.
Promotion to Staff Sergeant
During tonight’s recognition, Darren was formally awarded his Staff Sergeant rank slide by Major Mark Elliot, marking another important step in his Army Cadet Force career.
The promotion reflects not only his recent achievements, but also the sustained effort, commitment and leadership he has demonstrated throughout his time with the organisation.
Leadership is about more than rank. It is about setting the example, supporting others and creating opportunities for those around you to develop. Darren’s continued progression demonstrates the value of investing in personal development and accepting the responsibilities that come with leadership.
