Detachment Commander’s Coin Award, Cadet Simmie
Detachment Commander’s Coin Award – Recognising Courage and Resilience
Oddział Perth Viewlands
At the Black Watch Battalion Army Cadet Force, we believe achievement means more than qualifications, awards or competition results. Equally, personal qualities play an important role in helping young people reach their potential. Courage, determination and resilience all help shape confident individuals. Furthermore, these qualities prepare cadets to face challenges both within and beyond the Cadet Force.
Today, we are proud to celebrate Cadet Simmie of Perth Viewlands Detachment, who has received the Nagroda Moneta Dowódcy Oddziału. This special recognition celebrates his outstanding strength of character and determination in overcoming challenges.
Recognising Courage and Determination
Throughout his time as a cadet, Simmie has demonstrated tremendous courage and resilience. Although he has faced significant personal challenges, he continues to show determination and maintain a positive attitude, even when things haven’t been easy.
Moreover, his ability to keep moving forward speaks volumes about his character. Rather than allowing difficulties to define him, Simmie continues to demonstrate perseverance and a willingness to push himself forward.
His attitude is a credit to him as an individual. In addition, it reflects the values we encourage every cadet to embrace. As a result, his example provides a powerful reminder of the importance of resilience and self-belief.
What Makes the Detachment Commander’s Coin Special?
The Detachment Commander’s Coin recognises qualities that go beyond traditional achievements. Instead of focusing solely on qualifications or results, it celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional character, commitment and determination.
In Simmie’s case, this award acknowledges the courage and resilience he has shown throughout his personal journey. Indeed, his achievement demonstrates that personal growth deserves recognition just as much as formal success.
After all, true strength is not measured by the challenges we face. Rather, it is measured by how we respond to them and the determination we show to overcome them.
Congratulations, Cadet Simmie!
Everyone at Perth Viewlands Detachment and across the Black Watch Battalion ACF can take pride in Simmie’s achievement.
His determination and positive attitude provide an excellent example to his fellow cadets. Furthermore, his story reminds us why the Army Cadet Force places such importance on developing character alongside practical skills and knowledge.
Ultimately, success is not always about being the best or achieving the highest award. Sometimes, it is about finding the strength to keep going when life becomes difficult.
Congratulations, Simmie. Be proud of how far you have come, keep believing in yourself and never stop pushing forward.
Be the Values. Be the Standards.
