Cadets from Clifton Detachment, No 4 (Korea) Company, played a key role in their school’s Remembrance assembly on 11.11.2024. They worked together to plan and create a thoughtful and meaningful presentation for the occasion. Despite not having rehearsed beforehand, the cadets presented their work confidently and without a single mistake, impressing both staff and students with their professionalism. Their presentation was so well-received that the school invited them to deliver it again, recognising the effort and skill they had shown.

SSI Adele Waring, Clifton Detachment Commander, on Friday (15th) received an email from Mr Graham Healey, Head of Year 7 expressing his appreciation. Email shared below:

Good morning,

On behalf of the entire Year 7 and Year 8 students, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Cadets of Clifton Detachment No 4 Company for their outstanding presentation during our recent school assembly of Remembrance. Each and every Army Cadet that stood tall at the front of both assemblies was truly inspiring for our young people.

I was personally blown away with the way that the Cadets stood in front of their peers and inspired over 400 young people, not only with their words but their demeanour.

The students were also struck by the pride and professionalism reflected in the Cadets’ uniforms. The meticulous attention to detail and the way they carried themselves in their Army (cadet) attire spoke volumes about the discipline and respect inherent in the Army Cadets. It was a visual reminder of the honour and responsibility that comes with wearing the uniform, and it left a lasting impression on our students.

We look forward to future opportunities to collaborate with the Army Cadets and hope to welcome them, and others, in leading more assemblies and activities soon. Once again, thank you for your invaluable contribution to our assembly and for inspiring our students to strive for excellence in all their endeavours.

With sincere appreciation,

Mr Graham Healey
Head of Year 7

Col Paul Smillie, Commandant of Greater Manchester ACF, received the email and sent the following comment to be passed on to the cadets and staff:

“This feedback shows the fantastic impact the cadets had on the school community and highlights their pride, professionalism and ability to inspire others. It also reflects the hard work and dedication of the adult volunteers, who play a crucial role in helping cadets develop these skills. A big thank you to the adult volunteers for bringing out the best in the cadets and helping them excel.”

A huge well done to the cadets involved: Cadet LCpl Waring, Cadet LCpl Robinson, Cadet De Souza, Cadet Garvey, Cadet Lyjak, Cadet Sullivan, Cadet Toolan.
