Cadets from C Company recently took part in a busy and exciting training weekend, packed full of activities designed to challenge them, teach new skills, and most importantly, give everyone an enjoyable experience alongside fellow cadets from across the area.
Throughout the weekend, cadets trained in several subjects from the ਆਰਮੀ ਕੈਡੇਟ ਸਿਲੇਬਸ, including navigation, skill at arms, fieldcraft, and drill. The weekend gave cadets of all experience levels the chance to learn something new, build confidence, and continue progressing through their cadet training.
One of the main focuses of the weekend was ਨੇਵੀਗੇਸ਼ਨ training. Cadets were taught and assessed from Basic level right through to 3 Star level, with lessons covering map reading, route planning, and practical navigation exercises outdoors. Despite the challenges, cadets showed great determination and teamwork while learning valuable skills that can be used both within the cadets and in everyday life. Being outdoors and active also gave everyone the chance to enjoy the fresh air while developing their confidence and independence.
Another major part of the weekend was ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਹਾਰਤ training. Cadets were instructed on safe weapons handling and marksmanship principles before taking part in range testing using the L98A2 Cadet Rifle. Training was delivered appropriately for cadets from 1 Star to 3 Star level, ensuring everyone could develop at the right pace while gaining experience and confidence on the ranges. Cadets worked hard throughout the sessions and supported one another as they progressed through their training.
Alongside these activities, cadets also took part in ਫੀਲਡਕ੍ਰਾਫਟ and drill sessions, both of which remain key parts of cadet life. Fieldcraft training tested teamwork, communication, and practical outdoor skills, while drill sessions encouraged discipline, focus, and pride in presentation.
The weekend ended on a high during final parade, where LCpl Adams was proudly promoted to Corporal in recognition of her hard work and commitment. Congratulations go to her on a very well-deserved promotion.
Overall, the weekend was a great success, with cadets achieving plenty while also having fun and making new friendships across C Company. Weekends like this show that the cadets is not only about learning important skills, but also about enjoying new experiences, building confidence, and being part of a supportive team environment.
A huge thank you goes to all of the adult volunteers who gave up their time to organise and deliver another excellent training weekend. Their continued support helps provide fantastic opportunities for cadets across the county. Well done as well to all of the cadets for their enthusiasm, effort, and positive attitude throughout the weekend.
