Farewell to Cadet RSM Joshua Hunter
After an outstanding Cadet journey, Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major Joshua Hunter has now completed his time with the Army Cadets, having reached the age limit for Cadet membership.
While it is always difficult to say goodbye to a Cadet who has contributed so much, Joshua leaves with an impressive record of achievement, leadership and service that he can be incredibly proud of.
A Journey of Leadership and Achievement
From his early days as a Cadet to reaching the highest Cadet appointment within the Battalion, Joshua demonstrated leadership, commitment, resilience and dedication every step of the way.
His journey reflects the opportunities available through the Army Cadets and the personal development that comes from taking on new challenges and responsibilities.
As Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major, Joshua became a role model for those around him, setting high standards while supporting and encouraging fellow Cadets.
A Fitting Finale
The highlight of an already impressive Cadet career was undoubtedly Joshua’s selection to represent Scotland on the Army Cadets International Exchange 2026.
The international exchange provided an incredible opportunity to meet Cadets from other countries, experience new challenges and represent Scotland on the international stage.
It was a fitting way to round off a remarkable Cadet journey and create memories that Joshua will carry with him for years to come.
The End of One Chapter
Although we are sad to see Joshua leave the Army Cadets, we can also celebrate everything he has achieved and the positive impact he has had on those around him.
His leadership, enthusiasm and example will continue to inspire the Cadets who follow in his footsteps.
Importantly, leaving the Cadets does not mean leaving behind everything he has gained. The skills, friendships, experiences and memories developed throughout his Cadet journey will remain with him as he moves forward.
Your Next Adventure Starts Now
Joshua, your Cadet journey may have come to an end, but this is simply the beginning of your next chapter.
We wish you every success and happiness for the future. Whatever path you choose, take with you the confidence, resilience and leadership skills you have developed along the way.
