Cadets at Army Cadets International Exchange 2026

Scotland is represented on the international stage as Le sergent-major régimentaire cadet Joshua Hunter et Cadet Company Sergeant Major Oliver MacDonald take part in the Army Cadets UK International Exchange 2026 (ACIE26). Selected for this prestigious event, both cadets are demonstrating the leadership, commitment, and professionalism that define the Army Cadet Force.

Building International Friendships

Le Army Cadets International Exchange 2026 brings together young leaders from Australia, India, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, and Lithuania. Throughout the programme, participants work together, share experiences, and gain a deeper understanding of different cultures while developing lifelong friendships.

As a result, the exchange provides an outstanding opportunity to strengthen teamwork, communication, and leadership skills in an international environment.

Proud Leadership Roles

Joshua has been appointed Cadet Liaison Officer for Lithuania, while Oliver is serving as Cadet Liaison Officer for Latvia. These important appointments see them supporting and working closely with their respective international contingents throughout the exchange.

During the opening ceremony, both cadets received the highly sought-after and rare ACIE badge de Brigadier Gary McDade. Receiving this badge is a significant honour and reflects the achievement of being selected to participate in one of the Army Cadet Force’s most prestigious international programmes.

Adventure, Challenge and Growth

The exchange is currently taking place in Pays de Galles, where participants are enjoying an exciting programme of Formation à l'aventure designed to develop resilience, confidence, teamwork, and leadership. The programme will then continue in Scotland, allowing international cadets to experience even more of the United Kingdom while strengthening the friendships formed throughout the exchange.
