St Andrews Detachment Cadets Celebrate Promotions and Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards

Success continues across the Battalion as St Andrews Detachment Cadets celebrate an evening of outstanding achievement. Five cadets have been promoted to the rank of Cabo cadete, while two have also earned their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award.

These achievements reflect the dedication, leadership and determination shown by the cadets throughout their Army Cadet journey. They also demonstrate the opportunities available to young people who commit themselves to learning, leading and personal development.

Five Cadets Earn Promotion

Congratulations to the following cadets on their promotion from Cadet Lance Corporal a Cabo cadete:

  • Cadet Corporal Alexander
  • Cadet Corporal Bayne
  • Cadet Corporal Henderson
  • Cadet Corporal Saunders
  • Cadet Corporal Uringa

Each promotion has been earned through hard work, commitment and the ability to lead by example. As a result, these newly promoted Cadet Corporals will take on greater responsibility within the detachment.

They will support junior cadets during training, encourage teamwork and help maintain the high standards expected across the Black Watch Battalion.

Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Success

In addition to their promotions, Cadet Corporal Alexander y Cadet Corporal Uringa have successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Bronze DofE Award challenges young people to develop new skills, improve their physical fitness, volunteer in their communities and complete an expedition. Consequently, participants gain confidence, resilience and valuable life skills that complement their Army Cadet training.

Developing Future Leaders

The success of these St Andrews Detachment Cadets highlights the benefits of the Army Cadet experience. Through regular training and exciting opportunities, cadets develop leadership, teamwork and self-confidence. Furthermore, they build friendships while preparing for future challenges both inside and outside the organisation.

Every promotion and award represents months of commitment and personal growth. Therefore, each achievement should be celebrated as an important milestone.

En Battalion congratulates all five newly promoted Cadet Corporals. Special congratulations also go to Cadet Corporal Alexander y Cadet Corporal Uringa for achieving their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards.
