Saturday 22 August 2026 marked the opening day of Greater Manchester ACF Annual Camp 2026, with cadets arriving throughout the morning and getting settled into camp.
The morning included check-in, camp administration and lunch, followed by safety briefings, accommodation allocation and preparation for the week’s training programme.
Following lunch, cadets attended the Commandant’s Welcoming Parade and ACF prayer service, officially marking the start of the week’s camp programme.
After the evening meal, three outstanding achievements were recognised.
Cadet Staff Sergeant J Woods and Cadet Company Sergeant Major E Bradley were presented with their Four Star badges and certificates after successfully completing the APC Star syllabus from Basic through to Four Star.
Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major C McConville was also presented with a Master Cadet badge and certificate for successfully completing the Master Cadet Course at Frimley Park Cadet Training Centre.
These are fantastic achievements and reflect the hard work, commitment and dedication shown by all three cadets.
The companies then broke down into their respective cadres, based on star levels, for the final preparations ahead of the week’s training. This brought a busy opening day to a close and set the scene for an exciting week of training, teamwork and new experiences.
