A Prestigious Opening Act 

Army Cadets and Adult Volunteers from across the UK proudly opened this year’s Military Musical Spectacular, a world-class celebration of British military music and pageantry held on Horse Guards Parade in London. Representing more than 30 counties and battalions, cadets set the stage for an evening of unforgettable performances. 

Their performance launched the event with energy, discipline, and talent, marking the beginning of a night titled “Celebrating Heroes – Military, Literary and Musical.” 

Royal Recognition and Military Tradition 

The Household Division Charity announced that Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, would be the guest of honour for the official concert on Wednesday 16 July 2025. The event featured the Massed Bands of the Guards Division, The Duchess of Edinburgh’s String Orchestra, mounted State Trumpeters of the Household Cavalry, and Massed Pipes and Drums — a dazzling blend of tradition and spectacle. 

This year’s theme honours military heroes and cultural legends, uniting over 250 performers in a grand celebration of history, music, and service. 

Cadets Reflect on a Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience 

For the young cadets, performing on such a grand stage was a dream fulfilled and a powerful boost in confidence. 

“Performing at Horse Guards has made me feel very special because it’s an opportunity that not many people get to have,” said Cadet Noella Benton from Staffordshire and West Midlands ACF. 

 

“I feel like it’s made my confidence grow a lot because I’m really shy, but when I do things like this it makes me feel really confident and good about myself,” added Corporal Poppy Onenc from ক্লিভল্যান্ড এসিএফ. 

 

“Just finished performing at the Military Musical Spectacular. It was great, really exciting. Everyone loved it, I think, and I’d definitely do it again,” shared Corporal Plumptre of নটিংহ্যামশায়ার এসিএফ. 

A National Showcase of Cadet Excellence 

The cadets’ participation highlights the core values of the Army Cadets—discipline, leadership, and teamwork. This prestigious event offered an extraordinary platform for youth development through music and ceremonial performance. 

Cadets and volunteers represented their counties, showing the strength and spirit of the Army Cadet community.
