CHAMPION CADET COMPETITION

The aim of the annually held competition is to select, through a number of competitive events and interviews, the ACF and CCF Champion Cadet. Cadets will be assessed in all aspects of the Army Cadet Syllabus: 

Although no formal qualification, the winning ACF and CCF Champion Cadet will hold the prestige of knowing they are the Champion ACF or CCF Cadet for that year. The ACF Champion Cadet will be awarded the Claire Shore Trophy and the CCF Champion Cadet will be awarded the Captain General’s Trophy. These trophies will remain at CTC however they will both get a smaller trophy to keep.

Competitors must have attended and passed the মাস্টার ক্যাডেট কোর্স এট সিটিসি ফ্রিমলি পার্ক and recommended by their County Commandant. Competitor numbers are restricted to 20 people each from the ACF and CCF, totalling 40 competitors. Competitors only get one attempt at the Champion Cadet during their cadet career.

Requirements for attending the Champion Cadet Competition

Participants must hold the rank of Master Cadet and be formally recommended by their County Commandant. All competitors are required to have a valid and current Weapon Handling Test (WHT) for the L98 A2 GP Rifle, with the qualification recorded on Westminster and remaining in-date for the entire duration of the competition.

Recommended Preparation for the Champion Cadet Competition

It is recommended that students also undertake the following before attending the competition:

  • Prepare a 5-minute presentation.
  • Rehearse and deliver a basic fieldcraft lesson from the Army Cadet Syllabus (judging distance, camouflage and concealment etc.) 
  • Rehearse and deliver a basic drill lesson from the Army Cadet Syllabus (turning at the halt, marching and halting in quick time etc.)
