About Dyfed & Glamorgan Army Cadets.....
At Dyfed and Glamorgan Army Cadet Force we pride ourselves in providing the complete cadet experience to children from the age of 12 until they reach 18 years old. Whilst also providing the opportunity for those over 18 to become Adult Instructors.
We have 7 areas from Cardiff in the South to Pembroke in the West, Ceredigion in the North West and a Corps of Drums detachment based in Llanelli. Our County Headquarters is located in Bridgend.
We are affiliated and badged to The Royal Welsh, Welsh Guards, Queen’s Dragoon Guards, Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers, Royal Logistics Corps, Royal Corps of Signals, Parachute Regiment and Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps.
Cadets have the opportunity to learn military skills from fieldcraft, shooting, navigation, drill, signals, first aid and skill at arms. Also there is the opportunity to take part in adventure training from climbing, kayaking, expedition, mountain biking, abseiling etc. There is also a large emphasis on sports of all kinds and the opportunity to represent the County.
We pride ourselves on our achievements on The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme (DofE) and CVQO BTEC awards and encourage the cadets and adults to participate. We actively take part in charity efforts to raise funds for all charities and raise the profile of the Army Cadet Force.
