For those who crave excitement and love the great outdoors, our Battalion offers a wide range of adventurous activities designed to push limits and build confidence. From navigating terrain during orienteering exercises to mastering teamwork on the water in paddle sports, each experience is a stepping stone toward becoming a stronger, more capable individual.
Our cadets take part in hiking expeditions, camping under the stars, and learning essential fieldcraft skills. Marksmanship training and structured physical challenges further installs focus, discipline, and resilience — all within a safe, supportive environment.

Join our dynamic community and unlock a world of opportunities where you can grow, learn, and create unforgettable memories. We invite all young individuals aged 12 to 18 who are eager to embark on this incredible adventure with us!
And let’s not forget our amazing Adult Volunteers! These dedicated mentors play a vital role in shaping the Cadet Experience, providing guidance, training, and support. Becoming an Adult Volunteer is a rewarding way to give back to the community and inspire the next generation of leaders.
So, are you ready to dive in? Let the adventure begin!
Think of piping and drumming and thoughts of Scotland immediately come to mind.
By entering the Army Cadets Piping and Drumming structured learning programme you can work towards the Army Cadet Syllabus, gain Army Cadets Star levels, study for the BTEC First Diploma in Music and attain the Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board / Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Certificates in Piping, Pipe Band Drumming and Bass & Tenor Drumming. The various Army Cadet Battalions and Counties conduct weekly training however at a national level, piping and drumming tuition takes place over five weekends during the winter and two week long courses held throughout the year. The main event in the calendar is the Easter Concentration which is normally held at Cameron Barracks in Inverness. There, the Cadet pipers and drummers gather together for an intense week of practise and tuition, culminating in a parade through Dingwall and a concert for charity in Inverness, attracting crowds of up to 2,000 at each event.
The training events provide a glorious opportunity for cadets from all over Scotland to see and meet new friends.

In recognition of her exceptional contributions, The Lord Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire, Jill Young MBE, graciously presented the ACCT Scotland Adult Volunteer Award for 2025 to Staff Sergeant Riding.
