Vikki Paul

Winner of the ACFA Recognising Excellence Award (sponsored by BAE Systems) for Piping and Drumming, CFAV Category

The past year has been a trying year for SSI Paul, from Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Battalion ACF, which has not only seen her take overall control of the pipes and drums within the Battalion as both OC and Detachment Commander but also manage and continue her roles as Sports Officer for Stirling Company, Detachment Commander for Dunblane and as Music BTEC representative for the Battalion.

Since taking on the role of OC and Det Comd, SSI Paul has managed to increase the numbers of pipers and drummers within the Battalion from 14 at the beginning of the year to around 40 members. For the past year, SSI Paul has been the only bass and tenor drum instructor on our camps and training weekends, however, she has managed to get the Bass and Tenor Corps to such a high standard that some of the top pipes and drums have been recruiting our drummers.

SSI Paul's influence and passion has led to two of her former cadets now becoming CFAVs within the Battalion, helping to maintain her high standards, as well as two of her cadets now being in a position to take over as Pipe Major and Drum Major of the ACF National Pipes and Drums.
