Annual Camp Visitors Day

Wiltshire ACF hosted our Annual Camp Visitors Day today, welcoming several esteemed guests.

The day commenced with a meet and greet, followed by presentations from Colonel Pete White, and our cadet RSM, Cdt RSM Dylan Mead.

 

Our Honourary Colonel had the privilege of presenting the Cadet RSM with a certificate of recognition, in the form of a symbolic Cadet Force Warrant, acknowledging his appointment as the RSM of Wiltshire ACF,

Afterward, the guests had the opportunity to interact with the cadets as they participated in various training activities, which included:

  • Casualty Simulations in the Close Quarter Battle Range (CQBR)
  • Laser Tagger systems
  • Orientação
  • The Shotgun Range

 

Casualty Simulation

The first aid scenario, organised by WO2 Tim Williams, was designed to be as realistic as possible, utilising his expertise in first aid moulage.

 

Following the observation of cadets utilising the Laser Tag systems, a scenario was created where cadets would compete against the adult guests. While the event instructors may have offered some assistance, it was ultimately announced that the adult team emerged victorious. Both cadets and guests had a delightful and entertaining experience.

 

The orienteering station marked the next phase of the visit. We watched as the group of cadets engaged in the briefing prior to taking on their challenge. Sergeant Ian Johnson, who was organising the event, then provided our guests with their own briefing and assigned them the task of completing a short orienteering race.

 

The last activity was the shotgun range. During the transitions between cadet serials, some of our guests had the chance to try it out themselves. Once the next group arrived, our guests and cadets engaged in conversation about their experiences at the annual camp thus far.

 

As the visit drew to a close, a special moment was dedicated to presenting two Commandant SW Coins to Cdt Cpl Watters and Lieutenant Hinde in recognition of their excellence.
