This weekend saw the return of Company training for A Coy for 2026. The focus of this aptly named ‘Ex Bandaged Comms’ was to train and test cadets in Primeiros socorros e Communication and Information Systems (CIS). The main subjects on offer were Basic, 1-Star and 2-Star First Aid and Basic, 1-Star, 2-Star and 3-Star CIS.
Cadets arrived at the Cadet Training Centre in Friday Night ready for a weekend of training and fun. Saturday Morning, the cadets were split into their Star levels and all the training started. During First Aid the cadets even had a go at making some fake injuries – using make up to produce some very realistic looking wounds!
We also had a visit from the Suffolk Police Force to show Cadets their equipment, what they do on a daily basis and have play around in the police cars.
Throughout the day there were several subjects taught and tested by our dedicated Adult Volunteers with all of the cadets working hard to pass the subjects.
During the course of Sunday, a lot of mop up sessions were completed which included 3-Star Military Knowledge, 3-Star Drill and Turnout, Basic Adventure Training and Basic Keeping Healthy. This meant for a few of the older cadets this was all they had left to complete their current Star Level.
After lunch the final parade of the weekend took place with special thanks made to the Adult Instructors for their efforts over the weekend and to all the hard working cadets. A few cadets were awarded their Basic and 1-Star passes meaning they can now start training and working towards their next Star Badge.
There were also a few promotions for the cadets who have worked hard and proven themselves to the instructors that that they can take on extra responsibility while at their detachments and on Company weekends.
A big congratulations to all cadets who passed their training subjects, were awarded Star passes and got promoted.
