Friday was all about arriving and delivering the safety and welfare brief to all cadets. On Saturday, it was an early start with reveille at 06:30 hrs, followed by breakfast at 07:30 hrs. Training kicked off at 08:00, with cadets diving straight into their activities.
The Basics were split into groups and rotated through a round-robin of Navigation and Expedition Training, First Aid, and Fieldcraft. Some of the 1 Stars boarded a bus to St. George’s Barracks for shooting practice on the DCCT, while others remained at YCCTC for air rifle training and Skill at Arms (SAA) training. Meanwhile, the 2 Stars embarked on their Navigation and Expedition exercises across Northamptonshire.
Throughout the day, cadets rotated through their respective training stands, making the most of the opportunities available. The weather held up for D Company, ensuring those on their expedition stayed well-hydrated. With meals provided, every cadet had an action-packed day filled with fun and adventure.
On Saturday evening, cadets had the chance to take part in STEM activities and enjoy some well-earned free time with their fellow cadets.
Sunday brought another round of engaging activities, including Shooting, Fieldcraft, Navigation, SAA training, First Aid, and much more. After lunch, it was time to pack away, clean down the Cadet Training Centre, and prepare to depart for home at 14:00 hrs.
