India\u2019s National Cadet Corps has invited 8 UK Army Cadets who have been selected from units across the country, along with two RAF Air Cadets to attend their India Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) held in New Delhi India.<\/p>\n
The National Cadet Corps (NCC)<\/strong>. The NCC are the Indian Military Cadet Corps with their Headquarters in New Delhi. NCC is a Tri-Services Organisation, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in nurturing the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.<\/p>\n This year is the 75\u0a35<\/sup> Anniversary of celebrating India’s independence. <\/p>\n To celebrate this day we have been invited to attend this amazing celebration along with another 13 countries. They are set to have the trip of a lifetime with a crammed packed programme. <\/p>\n This story will be updated regularly with pictures and information about the activities which our cadets are engaged with throughout their trip.<\/p>\n The cadets had an early morning to travel to Heathrow airport to start their over 8 hour flight to New Delhi. Once there the cadets were met by Director General Cadet Corps (NCC) Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh before heading to their hotel. <\/p>\n Today cadets has a full day of cultural visits, this included visiting the National War Memorial, National Museum and India Gate. The day concluded with a India County & cultural presentation. <\/p>\n Today cadets took the morning to rehearse for their cultural presentation to the other YEP cadets. In the evening the cadets donned their ceremonial uniform got the Honourable Rakish Mantri (Minister of Defence) Dinner. <\/p>\n Today the cadets were treated to presentations from the other international cadet groups in the morning including ours dancing a traditional Scottish dance. Later in the day they visited The Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi and watched the famous water show. <\/p>\n Today the cadets has an early morning as they had to be up at 05:30am for a 07:00 presentation and yoga lesson at the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga. After the early morning yoga the cadets had breakfast before travelling to Rashtrapati Bhavan, which is the official resident of the president for a guided tour. In the afternoon the cadets moved to the NCC Camp for more cultural programmes which included presentations from NCC cadets, Indonesia, Kyrgyz Republic, Mozambique, Mauritius and us.<\/p>\n This morning the cadets visited the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum before heading back to NCC HQ more cultural presentations. <\/p>\n Today our cadets hit the Delhi Hatat markets and shopping centres, they also got their hands on some fast food! In the evening the cadets were treated to the final of the cultural presentations and even had a dance themselves.<\/p>\n Today the cadets were invited to the Red Fort for the 75th anniversary of Independence.
