We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Cdt RSM Jack Gardner has been appointed as the new Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the Lothian and Borders Battalion. This milestone is not just a personal achievement for Cdt RSM Gardner but a moment of immense pride for the entire Battalion.
From the very beginning, Cdt RSM Gardner has exemplified what it means to be a leader. Joining the Army Cadets at just 12 years old, Cdt RSM Gardner took on every challenge that came his way, saying yes to new opportunities and embracing the chance to learn and grow. His journey has been one of perseverance, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the Army Cadet Force.
In his five years as a cadet, Cdt RSM Gardner has set himself extraordinarily high standards, both in terms of his personal conduct and his leadership. His ability to inspire those around him—especially the younger cadets—is truly remarkable. He has always led by example, showing that a firm but fair approach to leadership is not only effective but also essential in nurturing future leaders.
