Last weekend saw over 100 cadets and CFAVs from 2 Company gather at CTC Waterbeach for their final camp of the year.

A wide range of ACS syllabus subjects were covered across the weekend, and a huge number of passes were made. Training included 1* Skill at Arms and Weapons Handling Tests on the L98A2 Cadet GP Rifle, 1* and 2* Navigation and expedition training, Basic Skill at Arms and Shooting on the Scorpion Air Rifle, and 2*and 3* Drill and Turnout.

Major McAlinden, OC 2 Company, said:

“The 2 Coy Christmas Camp closed the year off with a cheer, with a Mess Dinner night (Friday) for the Adults and a disco night (Saturday) for the cadets. This of course was rounded off by cadets being involved in a whole range of lessons, including Skill at Arms, Air Rifle, Navigation, Signals, Command Tasks, and Drill & Turnout. All cadets worked extremely well, and it was a pleasure to see them progress, develop and learn, especially those new to us. We also closed our year by saying some fond farewells to a number of staff, most notably CSM Bland, who is now RSM Bland & Maj Blundell, now OC 1 Coy. My heartfelt thanks go out to all who contributed to the success of the weekend. Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas.”
