Try your hand at composing a lockdown lullaby!

Due to the mixed restrictions across the UK, Army Cadet Music has set a challenge to our musicians.

Try your hand at composing a lockdown lullaby!

25 November 2020

  • National

Army Cadet Music wants to get everyone writing a tune for the Corps of Drums or Bugle Platoon, Pipes and Drums and Military Bands. Entries can be submitted either handwritten or computer programme generated.

Titles such as Lockdown Lullaby, COVID Madness or The COVID Calypso are encouraged.

A neutral panel of judges will be promulgated, and that decision is final. First and second prizes will be awarded to the best overall composition, and an additional prize for the best effort, by a cadet in each of the three categories below:

  • Pipes and Drums
  • Corps of Drums/Bugles
  • Military Bands

A Prize will also be awarded to the best overall composition by an CFAV in their respective categories.

All compositions will also be entered into a book of music created as a memory of the resourcefulness and dedication to music that both cadets and CFAVs have shown over these troubled times.
