Scottish cadets take on Westminster

9 May 2013

Cadets, cadet force adult volunteers and reservists from all over Scotland made the long journey to Westminster on 30 January to brief MPs and Peers on their activities as part of the wider defence family. The tea was kindly hosted by Mike Crockart MP, Liberal Democrat Member for Edinburgh West.

Almost 50 members of the two Houses of Parliament attended the reception where they mingled happily with the visitors from north of the border. Michael Moore MP, Secretary of State for Scotland and Liberal Democrat Member for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk spoke of the importance of both the cadet movement and the reserve forces to Scotland and the rest of the UK, and reiterated the Government’s thanks and support for all that they do for the country.
