17 December 2012
Fifty ACF and CCF Cadets from around the country were among hundreds of young achievers from across the UK who had a date in the prestigious setting of St James’s Palace last Tuesday, 11 December, 2012.
All of them had achieved the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and travelled to London to receive their certificates from Trustee and Gold Award holder HRH The Earl of Wessex.
The Gold Award Presentation (GAP) is a celebration and recognition of young people's achievements in completing the Gold DofE programme. It is a fitting occasion to celebrate the hard work, determination and perseverance required.
All the cadet Award winners worked tirelessly through the five sections of the DofE programme over the qualifying period to achieve the Gold Award doing a whole range of activities while at cadets.
These experiences show what an impact doing your DofE can have, and can develop the skills needed for life.
