National Swimming Championships 2015 - Eastern team crowned champions

15 October 2015

Congratulations go to the Eastern regional team who were named overall winners at the ACF's National Swimming Championships at Aldershot Garrison on 10 October 2015.

Ten regions from across the UK and Northern Ireland competed against each other over six events (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, individual medley and one team relay), with each team made up of the individual winners of the regional swimming competitions earlier in the year.

A win in the senior boys category and runners-up positions in the junior and senior girls and junior boys races gave the Eastern team the highest overall score with 207 points. The South East region was second (181 points), the North-West team third (174.5 points) and fourth spot was shared by the West Midlands and Scotland with both teams scoring 166 points.

The day proved to be a great success and a massive 17 championship records were broken! The winners in the junior girls category set a new record time in each race! To see the record-breaking times in each category please click here.
