The Cadet150 tree-planting project has been named runner-up in a prestigious nationwide environmental award competition. The MOD’s Sanctuary Awards recognise group and individual efforts undertaken to benefit wildlife, archaeology, environmental improvement or community awareness of conservation on or within MOD land in the UK or overseas. The citation stated:

“The Award Board was impressed by the way the Cadet Forces worked in partnership with theWoodland Trust, landowners and local communities to plant a phenomenal 150,000 trees around the UK. This is an excellent example of young people working together and is to be applauded for the positive messages in the local communities and in media coverage.”
