Cadet Force Bands tour Gibraltar

2 August 2018

Members of the Cadet Force Bands recently spent a few days in Gibraltar following an invitation by His Excellency the Governor of Gibraltar, Lt Gen Sir James Dutton.

The 26 cadets were from Oxfordshire, Royal County of Berkshire, 1st Northern Ireland Battalion and Clwyd and Gwynedd, and were hosted by the Royal Gibraltar Regiment during their stay.

The UK cadets were joined by members of the Gibraltar Cadet Force for a special performance in Casemates Square for members of the public, before playing at St Michael’s Cave. The cadets ended their trip with a concert in St Johns Square in front of the Governor of Gibraltar and current Mayor Kaiane Aldorino. They were also joined by a number of former Mayors on the balcony who were keen to watch the cadets perform.

“It was a great opportunity to go abroad and teach other cadets how to play and to make new friends,” said Cadet Dymore of Clwyd and Gwynedd ACF. “It was a once in a lifetime experience.”
