When Daily Telegraph journalist, Daniel Knowles, woke up to find Brixton Army Cadet Force taking part in a parade underneath his bedroom window, he realised that those smart and well-behaved young people were a much fairer representation of the area's teenagers than those the media normally chooses to focus on. In his words: "I realised as I watched this spectacle take over Brixton, that these hundred or so teenagers are a much fairer representation of the area than their contemporaries who hang out in children's parks smoking dope. They're more normal than the few hundred who came through smashing windows and stealing televisions three months ago".
