Birmingham cadets welcome royal visitor

18 January 2012

Witton and Aston ACF detachment in Birmingham was given a massive boost by a visit of HRH Duke of Kent, who performed the opening ceremony at the new £21m campus at the Broadway School in Aston, Birmingham on Wednesday 7th December 2011.

The cadet recruits of just 6 weeks proudly provided a guard of honour at the school entrance to greet the Duke on his arrival. He spoke to a number of the newly uniformed young cadets.

Broadway School has embraced the Army Cadet Force as a youth organisation which offers its students the opportunity to join the cadets as one of its many extra curricular activities.

Cadet Kit Shop supplied two specially produced commemorative plaques for the occasion.
